Welcome everyone.
I retired from Intel (Folsom) a little over 6 years ago and have been looking for some volunteer work that my heart could support. I got involved with Placer ARES (Amateur Radio Emergency Service) and check in to their .weekly radio net. I heard about CERT on the radio, and joined Sac Metro Fire CERT about 2 years ago. I like this site's goal to span several counties and many emergency response groups.

Placer ARES meets every Sunday night at 7:30 pm on the W6EK repeater. That's 145.43 with a minus offset and a CTCSS tone of 162.2. It usually lasts less than 30 minutes and all visitors are welcome.

Their is a CERT net every Sunday night at 8 pm on the K6MVR repeater. That's 147.000 with a minus offset and a CTCSS tone of 136.5. All CERTs and visitors are welcome.

H Brad! Nice plugs for the Amateur Radio Nets. I am afraid since the COVID-19 outbreak went crazy I have been off air. I have moved my radio station from one room to another to assist my wife with building a home studio for telecommuting. She has a nice studio, now I need to put my station back together in the new room.
